NMW stage for software launch
CINCOM will launch its latest enterprise management software, CONTROL: 2003, at National Manufacturing Week (May 20-23). With an eye to the future, the new developments give manufacturers their pass to a new world of web-enabled, collaborative commerce.
CONTROL:2003 is the new version of Cincom's flagship enterprise management software. The release incorporates web-based functionality that represents a $US100 million R&D investment in making the software suitable for the new collaborative technology environment.
CONTROL:2003's capabilities support manufacturers in the transition from schedule-based processes to demand-driven systems. The software is already delivering benefits such as 60 - 90 per cent reduction in manufacturing lead times, a 75 - 90 per cent reduction in work-in-progress, and on-time delivery improvement to 98 per cent, Cincom says.
Cincom has also developed a new technology called Environ, which integrates seamlessly with Microsoft's BizTalk to support enterprise application integration (EAI) and business process automation (BPA).
EAI means CONTROL can now talk directly to other software applications either within the company, or those of an external supplier or customer. Previously this was only possible with systems integration projects that were usually complex, lengthy and costly.
This capability is now built into CONTROL and makes the process of exchanging information between disparate software much easier and faster. It allows companies to get the most out of their existing IT investments.
Business Process Automation capabilities mean non-value added processes within the company and along the supply chain can be automated or eliminated. It now becomes much easier for companies to collaborate with partners to start tightening their supply chain processes and leveraging incremental improvements.
