Business software set for Automate launch
CINCOM has announced it will launch the latest version of its Environ software at Automate 2004. Environ helps manufacturers reduce costly and error-prone manual steps in business processes.
Built on Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004 and the Microsoft Windows Server 2003 platform, Cincom's Environ is an "event-enabled environment" - a process by which an action is initiated by a notification (such as when an inventory system is set to notify the purchaser when inventory reaches a certain level).
It addresses the needs of manufacturers that typically have:
* Business processes spanning multiple systems of record;
* Multiple technical architectures; and
* Users that may include employees, customers, suppliers and partners.
Automating these business processes results in the reduction of manual steps, saving time and money and reducing the opportunities for errors to be made.
The communication process in Environ is event-enabled and occurs in "real time", leading to more proactive involvement by those affecting the process, and fewer surprises such as missed customer deliveries, excess inventory, and cost overruns.
Environ, incorporating Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, enables companies to achieve their Enterprise Performance Management (EPM) goals by providing Business Process Automation (BPA) functionality and extensive Enterprise Application Integration (EAI) capabilities.
Paul Hargreaves, managing director of Cincom Australia said Environ customers were experiencing dramatic improvements in process efficiency resulting in substantial cost savings.
“More importantly, these capabilities are helping our customers transform the way they do business, which makes it easier for their customers and suppliers to do business with them.
"Cincom's Environ and Microsoft BizTalk Server 2004, empower manufacturing companies to capitalise on new opportunities and build the next-generation of tailored e-business solutions that span corporate boundaries and improve business agility."
Environ can improve a number of business processes including:
* Streamline the quotation process for rapid and accurate replies to customers;
* Make an order change and alert all parties involved in the process;
* Introduce new parts and products easily and efficiently with all the critical information needed to fulfill customers' needs; and
* Proactively manage part shortages to reduce shop floor delays through a system of notification and rapid processing.
In addition, Environ improves performance, eliminates waste and improves profitability.
To see how Environ works, visit Cincom at stand C33 at Automate 2004, in the Melbourne Exhibition Centre, from October 5-7.
