The new Hitachi SBR-Prime chain offers the most significant improvements to the service life of roller chains since Hitachi released the first Hitachi SBR chain in 1987.
30% Increase in Maximum Allowable Load (MAL)
Hitachi concentrated on improving the MAL to gain maximum improvements to the service life of the chain. This increase was delivered by the following changes and improvements to manufacturing:
- Compressive Residual Stress Zone: Areas of the roller chain that benefit from better tolerances have been identified.
- Triple Zone Hardness: Three layers of hardness instead of one as different parts of the pin and bush respond better to different hardness levels.
- Stainless Steel Blast Treatment: This treatment was provided for pin and bush combined with special lubrication offering corrosion-resistance to the components
A key benefit of improvements in the manufacture of roller chains is that there is no change to the price. Customers will get 30% more load capacity and a huge increase in service life at no extra cost. .
