Caterpillar has launched parts.cat.com, a new Cat parts website designed for Australian customers.
The online catalogue of parts "now includes batteries, filters, machine engine rebuild kits, lights, hand tools, radios, hardware and O-rings; subject to individual dealer availability,"the equipment manufacturer stated.
Cat plans to expand the list of products in the coming months.
It will also provide a capability for users to cross-reference equipment, specs on Cat parts, and informational videos.
It works by connecting "the customer to the Cat dealer PartStore system; the customer then can access the Caterpillar Service Information System (SIS) for additional technical information and Cat parts books. To complete the transaction, the customer can select either pick-up or delivery from the Cat dealer branch and can arrange payment using their credit card," Cat explained
Jeremy Canham, Cat's regional manager for Asia Pacific, stated that the new ecommerce website, parts.cat.com, delivers greater ease and convenience for customers to purchase parts from Cat dealers anywhere in Australia
"Australia is the first market in Asia-Pacific to launch parts.cat.com, which augments the customer support presently available via Cat dealers including prompt parts delivery and the spread of more than 6,000 dealer technicians across the country," he added.
