For applications that require maximum precision measurements, Carl Zeiss supplies UPMC ultra coordinate measuring machines.

With an extremely low measuring uncertainty, these coordinate measuring machines are well suited for use in research, development and quality assurance, as well as for the calibration of gauges and test pieces.

In addition, the UPMC ultra can be used for precision measurements in the field of 3D metrology, for measuring prototypes and volume parts, planes and spatial curves.

Capable of taking measurements in extreme ranges, these machines feature:

  • CNC control
  • bridge-type central drive for acceleration free measuring and constant precision throughout the measuring range
  • thermally insensitive scales in the CARAT version; and
  • servo drives for electronic monitoring of the drives and shearing force limitation in all axes.
Fine CAA and S-CAA ensures solid guide way error correction and position-dependent bending correction of the machine rigidity. Table plate bending compensation is also incorporated in these machines.

UPMC ultra coordinate measuring machines can optionally be fitted with a rotary table as a fourth axis.
