O-INSPECT was developed specifically for the quality assurance and initial sampling of small, complex parts in the plastics and medical industries, automobile technology and precision mechanics.
The measuring machine unites high flexibility with highly reproducible results through proven Zeiss scanning technology and Zeiss optics in one measuring run and one setting.
Additional optical functions were added to Calypso CAD-based software for O-INSPECT.
Carl Zeiss’ expertise in scanning technology and optical applications enables the total integration of both options and their capabilities into one software package. It is used to calibrate, program, measure and analyse. This integration also permits the use of the unique Calypso measuring program intelligence for optical measurements.
Multi-sensor system improves measuring productivity:
O-INSPECT works with proven Zeiss sensors: a newly developed, accurate and flexible 12x zoom lens from Carl Zeiss is used in addition to the VAST XXT scanning sensor.
O-INSPECT is configured in a way that allows the sensors to be automatically changed at any time during CNC operation.
The Zeiss optical sensor is an IP-CAM with a 12x zoom. This sensor is used not only with small features, soft or sensitive materials, but also when part throughput is important.
A sophisticated, multi-colour illumination system with high-power LEDs, multi-sector ring light, coaxial light, and transmitted and external light creates the optimum contrast needed for optical measuring.
Large bores and contours are scanned with VAST XXT or inspected using point-to-point measuring. Different stylus combinations increase flexibility during a measurement.
Automatic or manual stylus change: the sensor recognizes the stylus, eliminating the need for time-consuming recalibration. Calypso automatically displays the operating functions for optical measuring as soon as the optical sensor is active.

The machine strategy of O-INSPECT meets the expectations of users for high part throughput, high measuring accuracy, as well as fast and easy operation in production.
This requires enclosed guideways, an integrated damping system, highly dynamic drives, automatic drive monitoring and CAA (Computer Controlled Accuracy).
The fixed bridge and the moving measuring table permit three-sided access and easy connection to a pallet feed system during loading and stylus change.
Furthermore, O-INSPECT is quickly ready for use and easy to operate: Plug and measure simplifies everyday measuring. O-INSPECT can be quickly moved and set-up again with a forklift if required by the production process.
