Modern high strength steels cannot be overheated, but require a lot of energy to weld. Inverter welding technology allows a range of Car-O-Liner welders to easily tackle these requirements.
Top of the range of these inverter spot welders is the CR530, available in a C-tong and X-tong configuration. This advanced welder easily handles up to 13,000 Amp, with inverter frequency up to 2,000 Hz.
What makes this welder unique is a control panel that allows the user to manage the entire welding process.
The CR530 comes as a complete system. Each unit has four welding cables to provide quick access to double-sided, single-sided and other types of welding without the need to switch units.
Both C- and X-tongs are water-cooled and rated to 7 bar. Highly versatile, the welder will do spot hammer welding, nut and bolt welding, carbon shrinking, contact shrinking, moulding clip rivet welding and stitch welding.
The CR530 easily welds ferro steel, zinc-coated steel, galvanised steel and, as noted previously, high strength steels (e.g., boron) used in today’s motor vehicles.
The control panel has 11 operating modes and will hold up to 40 welding programs. The memory function also features the ability to hold user set operating modes and their programs, for later recall.
Other features include automatic adhesive detection and adjustment, as well as energy control. This feature compensates for heat losses, by keeping fixed energy levels according to the thickness and quality of sheets being welded.
To ensure consistent current levels, current control compensates for heat loss and variations of the main supply voltage.
The CR530 is available with a support arm that follows the operator wherever the spot gun is placed. An optional tool panel is also available.
Car-O-Liner also manufactures a range of MIG and aluminium welders for bodyshop use.
