CAPS Australia (CAPS) is organising a relief program to help those affected by the catastrophic typhoon in the Philippines.
Headed by CAPS’ Perth-based Applications Engineer, Melgrace Laudit, the relief program will provide urgent medical supplies, food, and clothing provisions, as well as monetary donations through the Red Cross.
Typhoon Haiyan struck the Philippines late last year, resulting in thousands of deaths in the central Philippines, and displacing more than 650,000 people. Laudit explains that the Philippines disaster is particularly poignant and close to the hearts of CAPS employees as there is a strong Filipino community across the CAPS Australia team, with several having immediate and extended families and friends living in the area.
With a view to providing timely critical relief, CAPS has been collecting donations from each of their branches across Australia and a large number of donation packages have been delivered to the Philippines through the Red Cross. CAPS Australia has over 180 employees across nine branches nationally and is proud of their commitment to provide support for those impacted by this devastating event.
Contributions to the Australian Red Cross Typhoon Haiyan Appeal can be made on the Red Cross website.
