Caps Australia announces a new range of mine spec lighting towers from world-leading lighting tower technology pioneer, Allmand.
A specialist manufacturer of reliable, quality and cost-effective portable lighting systems, Allmand has designed the new lighting towers to enhance operational performance and safety around domestic, industrial and mining applications.
Richard Sweet, Marketing Manager - Portable Products at CAPS Australia says that two new models have been introduced to the range to meet industry demand.
The new Mine-Spec lighting tower boasts six 1,250 watt metal halide lamps on an adjustable head, powered by a 1.5 litre Caterpillar engine driving a 15 kW generator. Built tough to withstand a range of arduous mining operating environments, the Mine-Spec features heavy duty components and a 265-litre fuel tank, and can safely illuminate an area the size of one and a half tennis courts with an output of 900,000 lumens.
Key features of Allmand’s new Mine-Spec lighting towers include a six-section, hydraulically actuated automatic lift mechanism to elevate the lamp head to almost eight metres above the ground; intuitive adjustment of the lamp head for accurate positioning of the lights before extending the towers; nylon guide sleeves on both towers for smooth operation and better stability when extended; and four adjustable stabiliser outriggers to withstand wind gusts of up to 100 kph.
The towers can be raised to their full height in just 25 seconds. Though built in the US, the mine spec lighting towers incorporate switches and circuit breakers that comply with Australian regulations and standards.
The Mine-Spec lighting towers offer environmental fluid containment systems, battery isolation and emergency stop buttons as standard safety features, with options such as fire extinguishers and auto start/stop controllers also available.
The Mine-Spec lighting towers complement Allmand portable equipment such as the Maxi Lite ML6V and ML8V also available from CAPS, and are ideal for companies requiring temporary lighting for a variety of open-air applications including events, civil construction and open-cut mining.
