Despite the fact that mining is 'digging', workers are often operating at heights.
Ensuring that these workers are able to carry out their jobs safely, Capital Safety has released its new range of fall protection full body harnesses.
Known as the Delta II range, it builds on the original Delta series of harnesses.
According to the company it incorporates a patented 'No-Tangle' design, stand up spring loaded dorsal D-rings - which ensures quick connections to a lanyard or SRL without straining to reach it as well as one handed operation, Velcro covered label packs which protect the new permanent indented print labels and the i-Safe system.
Capital explained that i-Safe is "an intelligent safety system which utilises RFID technology that is built into each harness in the Delta II fall protection range to track inspections, inventory, and manage information".
The harness also has a triangular design which makes it easier to differentiate the front from the back.
It goes on to state this latest range had included a number of industry first features, such as quick connect buckles for faster and more efficient donning; the REPEL technology webbing which provides higher abrasion resistance, repels liquids and fluids and is also naturally self cleaning; a rip-stitch impact indicator that allows the wearer to quickly and easily inspect the harness and identify if it has been involved in a fall or incident; and easy grip end tabs for easier adjustments.
The harnesses have also been designed with comfort in mind, with a wide spread over the shoulders and straps constructed to not rub a wearer's neck raw and to avoid irritation.
Capital added that it also comes with a bonus harness storage bag to take care of the harness.
The harnesses include a riggers harness, cross-over harness, all purpose harness, tower workers harness, miners harness, and live line harness.
The miners harness includes a confined space/retrieval attachment points, has corrosion resistant hardware, and includes a miners belt with battery and self rescue straps.
All of the harnesses in the Delta II fall protection range meet the requirements of the AS/NZS 1891.1:2007 standard.
