CANON has enhanced its range of colour flatbed image scanners with the launch of the CanoScan N670U and N676U, two ultra-compact USB scanners with a high 600 x 1200dpi optical resolution for Windows and Macintosh.
The N670U and N676U retail for $199 and $229 respectively (including GST) and supersede the CanoScan N650U with enhanced features including superior quality 48-bit colour scanning, three EZ scan buttons for easy operation and an upright scanning stand to allow for more desk space.
Both scanners feature USB portable convenience, a height of only 34mm and handy "Z-lid" covers for flexibility.
Connecting them is a straightforward operation with the scanners powered directly via the USB cable. Users simply plug in without having to turn off the computer and in minutes they are ready to use.
To achieve colour accuracy and clarity both scanners combine a high 600 x 1200dpi optical resolution with 48-bit input, allowing each scanner to read 16-bits of data for red, green and blue colours.
Selectable resolutions vary from 25 to 9600 dpi allowing users the flexibility to scan low resolution images for Web sites and high-resolution images for print-quality output.
The scanners’ fast operation is simplified with the inclusion of three EZ scan buttons that can be programmed to complete specific scan procedures at a single touch, whether the user is saving into an image file, copying or sending as an e-mail attachment.
They are also able to scan up to ten photos at the same time with separate files produced.
The addition of the unique "Z-lid" hinge design adds versatility as users can easily scan bulky items such as books, and the convenient upright scanning stand saves desk space yet allows scans to be made. Canon Australia (02) 9805 2570.
