Camtek has recently joined the Make It With Lasers initiative, aimed at promoting the use of laser technology within industry.
Make It With lasers is a non-profit making programme supported by industry professionals. The aims of the initiative are to help industry increase productivity, reduce costs and improve quality by the application of lasers within the manufacturing process.
The programme takes the form of a series of workshops focusing on an industry sector or specific technology application. Camtek’s inaugural event was the recent ‘Lasers in medical, Electronics and Sensors’ workshop held at the facilities of TWI in Abington near Cambridge.
The high efficiency of the laser cutting and constantly growing range of laser applicability made this technology one of the fast growing fields in general manufacturing. CAMTEK is pleased that its attention to the development of powerful and affordable CAD/CAM software allows its customers to use benefits of technology in full. CAMTEK SolidCut covers the field starting with the simplest 2D nesting and cutting application and upto the sophisticated 5/6 Axis Laser Solid Model and Tube cutting. Practically with the identical approach the software covers the whole range of profile cutting technology including laser, plasma and water jet machining.
The Solid Simulation using the solid presentation of the cutting head, the part and fixtures guarantees prevention of collisions and an automatically optimized tool path. The post processor generates NC program 100% adapted to the NC control requirements and utilizes the technological Know-How in the CNC control Data Base.
Internet, e-mail and phone allow providing immediate on line support to the customers placed all around Australia: laser cutting in Melbourne, Sydney and Perth, water jet cutting in Sydney and plasma cutting in Melbourne.
