CAMPLEX will be offering advance viewings of the award winning PowerMILL software at the upcoming Austech 2006 trade show. With new functionality designed to make toolpath programming faster, and even easier, the latest release has been designed to enable programmers to access the broad range of functionality without having to re-learn the software. "Software continuity is of utmost importance to us," stated Rob Simunic - Camplex's Technical Sales Manager, "as this allows our users to access the newest functionality, without the need for extensive training courses."
PowerMILL 6.5 will also be the first release with dedicated aerospace, and automotive, wizards. This will allow users in the high-end auto market to easily generate complex NC code for the machining of ports and chambers. "With Delcam's focus in autosport, such as being a primary supplier to Zytec who do all of the Formula A1 engines, this has allowed us to develop a lot of knowledge within the software and we are happy to be passing this onto the wider community of our customers." Offered PowerMILL Marketing Manager - Mark Forth.
Aerospace is an area of machining where there is much industry focus, largely requiring the ability to cleanly import CAD data and rapidly develop efficient & production ready NC code. With PowerMILL's latest wizards this process is becoming even easier as it allows the user to choose from a variety of prismatic (2D) machining methods, as well as using custom form tools to machine complex shapes in single passes. Combined with the ability to auto-tilt the tool away from possible collision points this allows programmers to be extremely confident that the CD code will run cleanly on the first part.
