ADELAIDE-based Camms Pty Ltd has launched new technology which has been recognised as the next generation for advances in manufacturing performance and is expected to open up international and national markets for South Australia.
The technology, which assists manufacturers to uncover hidden opportunities and improve profitability in their production processes, has already been successfully adopted by major Adelaide-based national manufacturers including BRL Hardy, Adelaide Brighton Cement and Cooper's Brewery.
Camms was recently named as the winner of the Cisco Systems Innovation Category of the 2002 Telstra South Australian Government Small Business Awards for the technology.
Camms chief executive Sean Ebert said the company had made a substantial investment and spent more than two years in research and development to create the software technology leveraged off almost 20 years experience with manufacturers.
"Camms Profit Impact (CPI) Solutions is a combination of advanced technology and optimisation methodologies that generate substantial improvements in profitability," Mr Ebert said.
"Our software extracts and displays performance information from automated production processes using the next wave of internet-based technology. Manufacturers can then view and analyse the information to develop performance improvement strategies.
“Advanced improvement methodologies are then employed by our team of industry experts to optimise efficiencies in areas such as production throughput, quality and energy management," he said.
"Many manufacturers have invested in specialised IT systems to streamline dealings with suppliers. CPI Solutions meets the same need for the actual production process."
Mr Ebert said the strong acceptance from Adelaide-based national manufacturing companies, and the Small Business Award, was confirmation that their commitment to this innovation would pay off in major benefits to manufacturers.
"We are very optimistic that CPI Solutions will lead to accelerated growth and the penetration of new national and international markets," he said.
"We have invested significant time to develop a unique delivery method where Camms is closely involved with clients in the optimisation process to ensure they achieve measurable and ongoing financial benefits from the technology application."
