Skyworks Solutions have introduced 2-stage, ultra low noise amplifiers (LNA) with high linearity performance. These amplifiers are available from Caelera. Fabricated using Skyworks Solutions advanced pHEMT process, the low noise amplifiers are suitable for demanding receiver applications including global positioning systems (GPS), satellite digital audio radio services, WCDMA and LTE infrastructure platforms or ISM base stations, repeaters and access points. Skyworks Solutions amplifiers minimise system noise figures, improving receiver sensitivity.

According to Skyworks Solutions, new receiver specifications require low noise figure amplifiers with high linearity amplification. Their solutions meet these parameters balancing efficiency with power and linearity performance.

Skyworks Solutions new ultra low noise 2 x 2 millimeter (mm) amplifiers offer performance under 0.7dB while providing high linearity amplification with OIP3 up to 35dBm. The SKY65037-360LF, operating from 0.7 to 1.2 gigahertz (GHz) and the SKY65040-360LF, operating from 1.5 to 2.4 GHz, feature external tuning to set gain up to 25dB and supply current adjustment of 30 to 100mA. The quad flat no-lead (QFN) devices are lead (Pb)-free and restriction of hazardous substances (RoHS)-compliant.
