Grease traps are designed to trap oils, fats and grease before they enter the waste line. Found in sinks and various cooking or kitchen equipment, fats oils & grease (FOG) enter pipes where they can solidify and cause backups and blockages.
Grease trap interceptors are manufactured from a minimum of 6mm cast PVC or Polypropylene sheet depending on the particular application. Custom sizes are available and customs fitting under benches, sinks etc and oversize units for larger waste collection can be arranged. If required, custom units can be built to incorporate pump wells and house other plumbing hardware.
Grease interceptor traps are fully welded inside and out with 5mm tri rod. The Polypropylene models are extrusion welded and the above ground models are supplied with stainless steel fittings and a sealed lid, or Polypropylene screw cap (for outdoor applications) to prevent smells from leaving the trap. Vents, inlets and outlets are all standard PVC sizes for ease of use.
Below ground models of grease interceptor traps are usually offered with Gattic lids or road covers for light, medium or heavy traffic areas. All grease traps are spark tested (electronic leak detection) before any external welds are made.
These designs withstand many years of trouble free operation, and are cost effective when compared to stainless steel types and ‘off the shelf’ models.
