CNC Motion Systems has developed a desktop CNC machining centre with full 3-axis servo drive.
Suitable for manufacturers of small parts, engravers, and educational facilities, the machining centre is Australian made and comes with a choice of 125W or 400W 240V motors.
With a maximum work area of 440 x 550mm and a Z-axis travel of 125mm, the machining centre comes complete with computer, monitor and CAM software, plus a T-slot table (15 slots), a digitiser contact probe, and a surfacing sensor.
While not suitable for machining steel -- there is no lubrication/cutting fluid facility -- the machining centre is able to drill, bore, contour and mill a wide range of materials including aluminium, plastic, and wood.
Said to be able to operate with any CAD/CAM software, the machine's software is able to automatically detect islands and nested islands with multiple depths. The integrated 3D editor features real time zoom, pan and rotate, plus step through tool path verification.
The DeskCNC controller utilises a micro-controller to perform the timing and interpolation functions for smooth operation under Windows.
A wide range of optional extras is available including a vacuum clamp hold-down system, a vacuum table, tooling, clear safety guarding, and a dust extraction system.
