CMG has released the Vacon NXL drive available from 0.25kW to 30kW in single phase and three phase supplies.
The NXL series utilises the modular enclosure developed for the larger NXS and NXP family of Vacon drives and three-phase current measurement ensures optimal vector motor control for dynamic performance. Flux optimisation also provides energy saving motor operation.
The compact NXL has onboard RS485 Modbus as standard. Combined with the expandable I/O or fieldbus communications options, the unit can be customised for most applications. A single, credit card sized option card can be fitted to expand the existing I/O or connect to another fieldbus such as Profibus DP, DeviceNet, LonWorks, N2 or CANopen.
Standard features common to the NX family include a simple menu based programming and an inbuilt PID algorithm with sleep function and actual value supervision for flow control applications. They also include operating and trip counters of kWh and time, temperature dependant cooling fans for optimising energy consumption and extensive drive and motor protection functions. An extensive monitoring menu, diagnostic fault history, programmable I/O, autorestart function and a keypad that can store and transfer two parameter sets between drives are also standard.
