Volvo has extended their range of wheel loaders renowned for low fuel consumption to include OptiShift, an enhancement to Volvo’s APS and driveline concept that aims to make businesses more cost efficient while reducing emissions and environmental impact.

Volvo wheel loaders with OptiShift have faster loading cycles and therefore higher productivity.

Wheel loaders with Optishift include a new torque converter with lock up and free wheel stator as well as Volvo’s Reverse By Braking (RBB) function that increases operator comfort, machine durability, reduces fuel consumption and results in shorter cycle times.

As well as shorter cycle loading and transport, the combination of new features produce a number of improvements in Load and Carry applications including rehandling and timber handling.

The wheel loader feature also optimises fuel savings by up to 15% when used for applications such as Load and Carry and transport.

Wheel loaders with OptiShift have a better drive response and increased hill climbing performance. They also have better deceleration comfort and less loading stress on the driveline.
