CAN Automotion announces the release of the rugged embedded PC Series by Janz Tec AG. Based on GE Intelligent Platforms’ rugged COM Express embedded processor modules, with Intel core i7 Technology, Janz Tec has developed a system with a new cooling concept and housing design to meet extreme demands in terms of performance, temperature, density, shock and vibration.
Similar to all systems in the Janz Tec emPC range, the new emPC-CXR will also support popular embedded operating systems and preconfigured CoDeSys-RTE, resulting in a powerful Intel i7 based computing platform for applications in areas such as defence, mining, marine, aviation, and construction equipment. The system is also suitable for medical or onshore/ offshore equipment where stationary systems with high availability and rugged design are required.
Michael Rennerich, Member of the Board of Janz Tec AG explains that the product combines the long-term cooperation with GE Intelligent Platforms and their own in-house expertise in the field of embedded computer systems to address the requirements of these industries.
He adds that the rugged COM Express modules from GE Intelligent Platforms and Janz Tec’s know-how and capabilities to design and manufacture customised computers guarantee the success of these systems.

The emPC-CXR computing platform will be presented for the first time at the SPS-IPC Drives from 26 to 28 November in Nuremberg, Germany.
