Budpak / Accuweigh recently supplied a bag filling machine to Skippen’s Landscape and Building Supplies in Sydney’s eastern suburbs.
Installed and commissioned by Accuweigh/Budpak’s Sydney branch, the bag filling machine is being used for bagging sands, soils and garden mixes into 25kg bags.
Budpak / Accuweigh supplies net weight bag filling machines as well as gross weight bag filling machines.
The bag filling machine supplied to the landscaping company is a net weigher that pre-weighs the product in an overhead weigh hopper before dropping it into the waiting bag below.
Net weight bag filling machines are ideal for semi-automatic bagging lines as the product for the next bag is being weighed while the operator is removing the previously filled bag.
Gross weight bag fillers on the other hand cannot initiate the next filling sequence until the previously filled bag is removed and an empty bag fitted by the operator. Gross weighers therefore, produce fewer bags per hour than net weight bag filling machines for manually operated bagging lines.
Components of the installed bag filling machine:
- Load cell based weigh hopper
- Ranger 5100 intelligent setpoint controller
- Infeed conveyor
- Chain driven supply hopper
- Finishing conveyor
An Accuweigh AW series check scale was also supplied to the client as per Weights & Measures regulations to ensure the bags conformed to required weight tolerances.
A major weigh-packaging equipment company in Australia, Budpak / Accuweigh operates branches in all mainland states providing complete after sales service support on bag filling machines, robot palletisers and stretch wrappers.
