BROTHER International has introduced a new, high featured flatbed laser Multi-Function Centre targeted at the Corporate/SME markets.
The new 5-in-1, MFC-8820D Multi-Function Centre, comes standard with built-in duplex which has the ability to print received faxes onto two sides of the paper.
As a 5-in-1 Multi-Function Centre, the MFC-8820D features a laser printer, super G3 33.6kbps fax, laser flatbed digital copier, colour flatbed scanner and PC fax.
It has a print speed of up to 16ppm, large 32MB memory and a new 5-line back-lit LCD display. It also has optional built-in networking capability.
As a business laser printer, it has built-in duplex printing capability, a print speed of up to 16ppm, 1200dpi resolution printing (up to 2400x600dpi), up to 250-sheet standard paper capacity (expandable up to 500 sheets with an optional second paper tray), an up to 50-sheet multi-purpose tray and support for PCL6 and BR-Script 3 (PostScript Level 3) emulations.
It also includes a 32MB standard memory that is upgradeable to 160MB using industry-standard 100-pin DIMM memory.
As a full function stand-alone fax machine, it incorporates a Super G3 33.6kbps high-speed fax modem, 340-station automatic dialling, broadcasting up to 390 locations, and a built-in 50-sheet automatic document feeder.
The MFC-8820D can store up to 500 pages for Quick Scan faxing or out-of-paper fax reception, plus with dual access capability the user can scan an outbound fax into memory while an incoming fax is being received.
As a digital copier, it provides fast copying up to 16cpm, reduction and enlargement from 25-400% in 1% increments, up to 99 copies, and a sorting function.
It also allows for the ability to copy up to legal size documents from either the document glass or from the automatic document feeder. Also included is an "N-in-1" function to allow the user to copy multi-page documents to either 2-in-1 or 4-in-1 page formats.
The MFC-8820D has the ability to scan colour documents at up to 9600 x 9600dpi interpolated resolution (600 x 2400dpi optical) on either the
legal-size document glass or through the automatic document feeder.
For Windows-based users there is an easy to use "scan to" button for scanning directly to an Image, OCR, File or e-mail applications. ScanSoft(tm)
