Brother International (Aust) provides laser printing solutions to the home office, small office and corporate home office markets with the introduction of its new HL-4000 Series Colour Laser Printers.
At print speeds of up to 20ppm in both colour and monochrome these printers offer high performance, print quality and consumer value.
The series includes the network ready HL-4040CN and the HL-4050CDN which includes built-in Ethernet and network ready as well as built-in automatic duplexing.
The new printers will first be available beginning mid May 2007 (HL-4040CN) and July 2007 (HL-4050CDN).
The new product announcement builds on Brother’s legacy of making desired levels of printing functionality available and affordable to the SOHO marketplace.
Brother International started with its monochrome Multi-Function Centres and entry level laser printers over 10 years ago.
Brother International continues to meet the output needs of small to medium sized businesses by including as standard a number of enhanced features at new, affordable price points. For years this market has been looking for a viable, everyday colour printer.
While many initially chose colour ink jet printers for occasional colour printing, they are now discovering the ability of colour laser printers to satisfy the needs of those who need to print higher volumes of colour documents quickly and affordably on a daily basis. The Brother HL-4000 series can address both the performance and value these users have been searching for.
“Being a major player in the monochrome laser printing market, and given the current market trends, our colour laser line expansion is appropriately timed to serve the expanding colour laser printing market,” said Gabriel Hamid, GM for Customer Service and Marketing.
“These new Brother developed single pass colour laser printers clearly demonstrate our level of engineering expertise and market commitment.”
Fast and feature rich
The HL-4000 series features an up to 20 pages per minute print engine for both colour and monochrome output. At this level of performance, users can concentrate on producing and delivering their work, rather than waiting for the critical output they need for their busy daily routines.
But the HL-4000’s speed does not come at the expense of print quality. Both models produce colourful, high resolution 2400 x 600 dpi output that results in razor sharp text and good colour quality to consistently produce professionally looking documents.
Each printer has built-in Ethernet network connectivity standard, in addition to their Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interface. Both printers also offer PCL6 emulation, as well as a USB Direct Interface that allows compatibility with both PictBridge and USB Flash Memory Drives.
With a focus on delivering good colour laser printing for desktops and small offices, this model features:
- Up to 20ppm print speed in both colour and monochrome
- Up to 2400 x 600 dpi print quality
- 300-sheet paper input capacity (250 sheet input tray, 50 sheet multi-purpose tray)
- USB Direct Interface
- Print PDF and JPEG files directly from a USB flash memory driver without a PC
- PictBridge support to connect directly to any compatible digital camera
- High capacity replacement toner cartridges (standard and high yield)
- Ethernet and Hi-Speed USB 2.0 interfaces (cables not included)
- PCL6 emulation
This model offers high flexibility for wired workgroups. Sharing the same basic features including print speed and print quality as the HL-4040CN, the HL-4050CDN provides the following enhanced features:
- Built in duplex print capability for two-sided printing
- Expandable paper input capacity with optional 500-sheet paper tray
- BR-Script3 emulation
- Low cost per page printing
The HL-4000 series uses an easy access front loading system for all consumables. The user has the option of choosing “standard” or “high yield” toners - whichever fits their budget or type of use.
Brother International will offer a standard black toner cartridge with a yield of 2,500 pages or a high yield cartridge with a yield of 5,000 pages.
Three standard colour toner cartridges will be available with yields of 1,500 pages each and a high-yield version offering yields of 4,000 pages each. The HL-4000 series printers come standard with a set of “standard” toner cartridges and a drum unit.
