BREVINI Australia has released the S Series of planetary gear units, taking advantage of new bearing designs and production techniques.
The result is an improved product with better technical features than the previous PDL series.
Available in eight sizes, the new gearboxes slot in well with existing units to provide comprehensive market coverage to up to 1.2 million Nm. The S Series is manufactured in a new dedicated facility in Brevini Riduttori’s works in Reggio Emilia, Italy.
The series is characterised by new planet bearings with enhanced rollers to give greater bearing life than the previous model it replaces. It also features a substantial sealing arrangement, larger oil ports and a more robust adaptation system for large electric motors. A large degree of interchangeability exists with the previous models.
The S Series can be supplied with a wide range of input and output accessories for use in applications ranging from mixing and extruding to grinding, milling and lifting. Industries covered include mining and quarrying, food production, as well as steel manufacturing and water purification plants.
According to managing director Chris Bayliss, the S Series is the optimum proposal for all applications requiring high torque with minimum dimensions on fixed industrial equipment and also self-propelled machines.
“This epicyclic solution is preferable to others with traditional gear units as it offers an improvement of 40-60% in terms of space and weight.”
