POSIPLAN, a unique combination of planetary and helical gears or planetary and bevel-helical gears, is now available from Brevini Australia .
Manufactured by PIV Drives of Germany, a division of Brevini Power Transmission, these gear reducers are characterised by their compact size, reliability and ease-of-maintenance.
The gear reducers use Brevini planetary gear units and PIV helical and bevel gears and have been comprehensively tested under real operating conditions prior to release.
Leading edge CAD/CAM systems including Finite Element Analysis was used in the development and design of the gear reducers.
Ten sizes are offered, from 3,000Nm to 27,000Nm of nominal torque. The range will be expanded with the addition of eight more sizes, with output torques of up to 67,000Nm, expected in 2006.
Planetary helical units are available with up to four reduction stages and transmission ratios of up to i = 2000 and up to four reduction stages and transmission ratios of up to i = 1100 in the bevel planetary helical configuration.
Posiplan units feature special seals to protect against lubricant leakage and contamination with labyrinth seals or double seals, with separate grease-filled chamber.
Output hollow shafts are available in cylindrical with key, cylindrical hollow shaft for shrink disc and splined shaft.
Posiplan units can be driven by electrical or hydraulic motors and accept flexible and fluid couplings, clutches and torque limiters, as well as belt pulleys.
Available accessories include torque arms, shrink discs, backstops and brakes, as well as oil filtering and cooling systems.
