VISHAY Intertechnology, represented by Braemac , has announced the release of the SMN series of four-resistor, surface-mount, ultra-precision Bulk Metal foil resistor networks, providing a low tracking TCR of 1ppm/°C and high stability of 0.01% at 0.1W, in a small-outline, eight-pin, industry-standard JEDEC MS-012 package.

Each SMN resistor network is made up of four independent Bulk Metal foil resistors in a dual in-line, moulded epoxy package measuring just 3.99 mm by 4.93 mm with a 1.73mm height profile and a 50mm lead pitch.

This compact, integrated construction offers space savings and improved electrical performance over discrete resistors and matched sets, providing TCR absolute value of ±5ppm/°C and TCR tracking value of ±1 ppm/°C.

The series offers a broad range of resistance ratios from 1.0:1 to 100:1, with a tight resistance ratio tolerance of ±0.01% and absolute tolerance of ±0.02%. The power rating is 0.4W for the entire package at 70°C, or 0.1W per resistor.

Resistance to thermal shock, shock, moisture, high-frequency vibration, and extreme temperatures contribute to long-term device stability, which surpasses that of competing products by a factor of 2.

Low thermal EMF of 0.04µV/°C and low current noise of 0.01µV/V(rms) at -40dB serve to enhance device performance.

These new resistor networks, which may be used independently or as divider pairs, are designed for use in precision instrumentation amplifiers, differential amplifier gain controls, matched references, and precision voltage dividers in automated test equipment and measurement instrumentation, as well as in precision weigh scales.

Devices in the new SMN series from Vishay Foil Resistors feature solder-coated copper-alloy terminals and weigh just 0.08g.

Available in tube, waffle-pack, or tape-and-reel packaging, samples and production quantities of the SMN series resistor networks are available now. Lead time for production quantities is approximately 12 weeks.
