With six 10-bit video DACs, the CS98200 offers manufacturers of DVD products a robust set of features in a highly integrated, cost-effective solution to help them introduce feature-rich, cost-reduced advanced home entertainment products.
Highlighting the chipset's exemplary full-featured audio support, the CS98200 features eight-channel DVD-Audio capability that is fully compliant with DVD Forum specifications.
DVD Audio is an emerging digital audio specification that promises improved sound quality and multi-channel sound compared to traditional two-channel CD technology.
The CS98200 also supports Dolby Pro Logic II and Dolby Digital, AAC, WMA and DTS compression standards, all with post-processing bass manager support, as well as MP3 support.
The CS98200 also supports the Kodak Picture CD application.
The CS98200 boasts two 32-bit RISC cores that provide enough processing power ¨C each producing 180 million instructions per second (MIPS) or 360 total MIPS ¨C for virtually every known consumer feature today, as well as many potential features in the future.
It also sports a 32-bit audio digital signal processor running at 180 MIPS.
The CS98200's built-in second-generation progressive scan technology is designed to provide improved, sharper picture quality.
