Bosco Storage Solutions has supplied a range of standard and custom Boscotek storage cabinets as well as racking and materials handling equipment for tool storage at the new SkillsTech Automotive Training Centre.
Queensland’s leading TAFE institute SkillsTech Australia selected Boscotek together with their local reseller Materials Handling Pty Ltd to supply a range of tool storage cabinets and workbenches for their recently built Heavy Automotive Training Centre in Acacia Ridge.
The Heavy Automotive Training Centre trains apprentices for leading truck manufacturing companies such as Volvo, Kenworth and Western Star in addition to major earthmoving machinery suppliers such as Komatsu and Case.
With most apprentices being trained to eventually work with heavy automotive vehicles from 5-tonne trucks to 100-tonne dump trucks, the SkillsTech workshop provides thousands of tools and hundreds of parts for the students.
Consequently, industrial tool storage formed one of the focal points during the workshop’s planning phase.
Boscotek’s local reseller, Materials Handling Pty Ltd was awarded the storage project to supply a range of standard and custom Boscotek storage cabinets alongside racking and materials handling equipment.
Key tool storage systems supplied by Materials Handling:
- Over 30 high density combination cabinets to store tools and parts efficiently
- Panel trolley stations to give the workshop superior access to multiple sets of tools and parts in one large mobile location
- Heavy duty workbenches in various styles to provide a robust work surface suitable for the demands of the heavy vehicle training centre
- Solid 40mm oak timber benchtop on a majority of the workbenches for reasons of longevity and low maintenance
