BOSCH has released the AMC modular door controller AMC. It can directly control up to four doors, each with one reader in one direction or two doors with a reader in each direction. It has four independent interfaces for Wiegand readers.
It can communicate upstream with the host computer via RS485 multidropped, RS232 or 10/100 MBit Ethernet. The inbuilt compact flash adapter provides effectively unlimited storage by exchanging the standard compact flash card with one with 256MB, 512MB or 1GB capacity. The setup procedure is simple and fast, using door templates. Once selected, all the inputs and outputs are predefined.
The AMC provides an IP protocol stack completely developed by Bosch. There are no license fees for third-party operating systems and there is no vulnerability to viruses. The electronics are completely covered by a plastic housing and the LCD shows important status information.
The AMC provides the standalone capability of a complete access control system in each room. This leads to an excellent reliability and a very high redundancy without higher costs.
