A NEW series of low-backlash planetary drives especially suited to production automation and robotics applications is being introduced to Australasia by Bonfiglioli Transmission (Australasia) Pty Ltd .
The Tecnoingranaggi series is part of the internationally proven range of Tecnoingranaggi of Bologna, a market leader in the field of low backlash speed reducers owned by Bonfiglioli Riduttori.
The new technology complements Bonfiglioli's Mechatronics ranges which focus on technology that integrates state-of-the-art mechanical and electronic process control.
The Tecnoingranaggi LC series will target the market for high dynamic-mid precision industrial applications with a total of four frame sizes covering torque requirements in the 10-90 Nm range, says the Managing Director of Bonfiglioli Transmission (Aust and NZ) Pty Ltd, Mr Malcolm Lewis.
Especially suited to applications involving servo motors and high purity requirements, including food and beverage production and packaging, the LC series is specified to IP64 standard and complementary ranges to IP65. Units are factory charged with synthetic grease of viscosity ISO VG220 suitable for operation in any mounting position and at ambient temperatures in the 0-40 C range.
Finite gear ratios can be specified from as low as 1:3 up to 1:100 to suit practically all speed requirements common in the industries to which the technology applies. For both single and double reduction units the backlash can be specified either as standard (12'-15' arcmin) or reduced (6'-8' arcmin) for extra precision and repeatability of driven equipment. A broad range of keyed or shrink disc inputs will fit servomotors from most makes and versions.
The broader range of Bonfiglioli Tecnoingranaggi low-backlash planetary grearboxes comes in a range of precision classes up to 3 arcmin and are available in seven gear frame sizes, with one or more reduction stages for gearing ratios from 1:3 to 1:1000. Double shaft (IS), right angle shaft (G) and right angle output shaft (MB) versions are also available.
The range benefits from the stringent quality procedures governing production at Tecnoingranaggi, says Mr Lewis. Pricing of the units reflect the benefits of simplified construction and highly efficient production facilities, giving them considerable advantages over more expensive units with which they are interchangeable
Introduction of the Tecnoingranaggi range follows the largest expansion ever of Bonfiglioli range and service facilities in Australasia, where it has more than doubled the size of its headquarters Down Under.
The Tecnoingranaggi ranges will be stocked at this new $8 million facility located near the M7 Orbital in the Western Sydney, along with complementary EP and WEP motor and gearbox combinations specified to cope with the special hygiene and corrosion-resistance needs of processing food, beverages, pharmaceuticals and potentially aggressive solids, liquids and chemicals.
