Some of the versatile and powerful gearmotors in the Bonfiglioli range are being combined to produce drives that offer the best features of each for heavy feeder and conveyor applications.
Bonfiglioli’s modular Trasmital 300 multipurpose planetary drives renowned for their torque density and compact dimensions are being coupled with the latest HDO Bevel Helical units to produce combinations offering up to 350,000 Nm capacity.
The HDOs drives, in sizes up to 72,000 Nm, are the result of more than three years development to produce outstanding reliability and torque densities to record values, says Bonfiglioli Managing Director Mr Malcolm Lewis.
Tailored to customer requirements through extensive assembly and service facilities in Australia and New Zealand, they feature good torque distribution across their entire ratio range, with gear ratios laid out in close progression and the drives having a rugged capacity to cope with the shock and impact of intermittent loads.
When combined with the 300 series Trasmital planetary – as was the apron feeder drive displayed at the recent Aimex exhibition in Sydney - they can be used in many slow moving applications where high output torque is required.
Trasmital 300 series come in 16 basic sizes, with output torque up to 540,000Nm and transmissible power up to 450kW. (Correct spelling: Trasmital, no “n”)

The HDO drives’ versatility in service is enhanced by numerous mounting options suitable to their typical applications, such as materials handling (inc belt, apron, bucket, screw and chain conveyors), manufacturing, mining, quarrying and minerals processing, rural and food product processing, paper, pumps, steel, sugar, timber, wrapping and stacking applications, and water and waste water treatment. The drives’ multi machined surfaces and symmetrical design allows them to be used in either left or right hand configuration.
