International Industrial motors and drives innovator Bonfiglioli is expanding further in Australia with the opening of a new 750 sq m office and warehouse in Victoria.
The new facility in south-eastern Melbourne incorporates assembly and testing equipment for local production of several of Bonfiglioli’s top selling ranges from among the two million products the company sells annually.
These include modular C, A and F helical, bevel helical and shaft mounted helical drives, VF/W worm drives and 300 series Trasmital planetaries, part of a broad range of drives used in industries ranging from heavy industrial, mining and materials handling through to processing, packaging and conveyors.
Strategically located in Lynbrook near industrial and transport hubs to serve Victorian, South Australian and Tasmanian markets, the new facility will complement Bonfiglioli Transmission (Aust) Pty Ltd’s new Sydney assembly facilities for some of the world’s most technically advanced heavy duty drives, the HDP parallel shaft and HDO bevel helicals. The HD series is assembled here in capacities from 14,000 – 125,000 Nm, extending Bonfiglioli’s ability to custom-engineer drives to meet individual needs and local conditions.
In addition, Bonfiglioli have a policy of decentralizing stock to the sales regions as the Company grows, and this local back up is appreciated by their customers who can draw upon local stock if needed the same day rather than waiting for it to travel from Head Office in Sydney.
The extra warehouse space will enable their business to expand local stocking levels and more readily configure drives and drive combinations to customer requirements, as well as enhancing quality testing, delivery times and service availability.
The Melbourne branch will become the second full assembly facility alongside the other assembly branches in Auckland New Zealand.The opening of the new Victorian facility, replacing an earlier facility, follows the investment of more than $20 million in expanded stocking and production facilities in Australia and New Zealand as Bonfiglioli expands throughout the Asia Pacific, where it has opened offices in Perth, Singapore and Vietnam as well as expanding its New Zealand operation.
