The expanding Bonfiglioli Transmission industrial drives organisation is utilising the talents of one of its young engineers to deliver its sales message in spectacular fashion Down Under.
Bonfiglioli Transmission has sponsored applications engineer Aaron Fitzgerald to drive in the Aussie Race Car (ARC) series that prepares successful drivers for the popular V8 Supercar class.
Using 400kg half-scale racing vehicles powered by Yamaha 1200cc motorcycle engines, the pocket rocket ARC vehicles accelerate to 100kph in under four seconds (about the same as a Ferrari F430 Spider F1) and go on to speeds of 240kph.
“It is a hotly contested class in a sport that 37% of all Australians have an active interest in,” says Aaron Fitzgerald, 26, who has been involved in motorsport since age 14, contesting go-karts and saloon classes before focusing on ARC to gain visibility and sponsorship.
“ Not only is it a great training ground for progression to V8 Supercars, but also it gives value to sponsors by reaching a cumulative total of more than 12 million people annually who watch a V8 Supercar races on Channels 7 and 10,” Aaron Fitzgerald says
Aussie Race Cars typically stage events of 10-15 laps before V8 Supercar events, with owners such as Aaron Fitzgerald mounting highly professional gold, silver and bronze sponsorships with signage, admission tickets, company logos on cars and use of drivers and cars for corporate events.
Bonfiglioli Transmission managing director Malcolm Lewis says the determination of Aaron Fitzgerald to succeed in his chosen sport has seen him backed by people such as Australian Formula One driver Mark Webber and Rugby International David Campese.
“ We believe that by promoting his attitude to excellence and achievement we add something to Aaron Fitzgerald as an employee and to Bonfiglioli as a dynamic team.
“His involvement in engineering a winner in a class that prizes compact power is right in line with our own corporate philosophy of ‘More Torque, More Action’.”
Supported by an Australasian network of distributors complemented by its offices in Australian states and New Zealand, Bonfiglioli Transmission’s facilities incorporate advanced warehousing and assembly machinery to ensure top quality tailoring to customer requirements and delivery performance.
Bonfiglioli Transmission has introduced to Australasia a series of its new product releases, including the compact Trasmital planetary series, the C1, A and F helical gearboxes, new W worm series and a broad range of variators, clutch-brake units and torque arm models.
