Boge Compressors announces the opening of a new manufacturing plant in Saxony, Germany.
The new BOGE Komponenten GmbH & Co. KG in Grossenhain was opened in the presence of the German Federal Minister of the Interior Dr Thomas de Maizière MdB, Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs Sven Morlok and the Mayor of Grossenhain Burkhard Müller at a special ceremony attended by the new workforce, numerous company representatives from the Bielefeld headquarters and BOGE’s worldwide subsidiaries along with guests from business, politics and local government.
In his address, the Federal Minister of the Interior, de Maizière acknowledged the importance of medium-sized companies for the German economy, explaining that manufacturing industries, which now also include BOGE in Grossenhain, support the overall economic growth.
When searching for a new production location, the choice of Germany as the country of manufacture for BOGE was never questioned. Director Wolf D. Meier-Scheuven describes ‘Made in Germany’ as one of their quality attributes in worldwide competition and often a purchasing criteria for customers. Grossenhain was chosen to locate the plant because Saxony lies at the centre of Europe, putting them closer to customers in the eastern regions of Germany and in the whole of Eastern Europe.
Sven Morlok, Saxony’s Minister for Economic Affairs Labour and Transport, extended a warm welcome to BOGE and emphasised the importance of the choice of location for the State of Saxony. BOGE’s choice speaks for the Free State of Saxony as a business location, securing the future viability of Saxony.
BOGE has already invested around twelve million euros in setting up the new production plant – the largest single investment in the history of the company. In the 4,500 square metres of new production and assembly areas, BOGE is commissioning ultramodern manufacturing technologies, such as the high-tech machining centres for automated production processes. Amongst other products, the Grossenhain plant will produce the BOGE effilence airend - the core component of the company’s compressors.
