Maitland based builder, McDonald Jones Homes, has been named number one in the Hunter Region in a recent survey by Reed Construction Data.
The survey, conducted across 17 councils North and West of Wyong, showed that McDonald Jones Homes achieved 304 building approvals this year, an impressive 50% increase on last year’s figures. The results show a strong move forward for McDonald Jones Homes, especially at a time when the overall rate for approvals have dropped by 3.4% across the region.
One key factor in the success of McDonald Jones Homes has been its use of steel framing made from TRUECORE steel and roofing made from COLORBOND steel, building materials, which are being increasingly requested by homeowners in the area.
According to McDonald Jones Homes, it switched to steel frames about five years ago, due to requests from clients, who insisted on steel to protect their homes from termite problems which plague the region. 98% of McDonald Jones Homes’ now use steel frames, which it believes has really helped to push it up to number one builder.
In addition to using steel frames, McDonald Jones Homes also prefers to use roofing made from COLORBOND steel, as it looks great and lasts for years, features that really appeal to homeowners.
McDonald Jones Homes is experiencing a real boom time in its building at present, and hopes that it continues well into next year. McDonald Jones Homes plans are to build over 400 new homes next year, if all goes to plan.
