MANUFACTURING plants throughout Australia and the world are turning to an advanced stainless steel crimp fit high pressure pipe system that cuts installation time by half.
Major stainless steel supplier Blucher (Australia) said the need for high quality, low maintenance pipe systems was causing a noticeable shift in attitudes toward stainless steel.
An increasing number of companies were specifically requesting the hard wearing pipes in the refurbishment or construction of new facilities.
Blucher managing director Mogens Jensen said the Mapress stainless steel pipe system was rapidly becoming the preferred choice as it had a longer life and greater resilience to corrosion when compared to traditional counterparts such as copper and plastic.
"This means less maintenance and repairs are required which substantially reduces costs for manufacturers over the long-term.
"The time taken to assemble the pipes is also significantly reduced, with each press taking just six seconds, which provides further savings in terms of time and money," he said.
The system is installed using an electromechanical pressing tool which ensures safe, secure pipe connections and eliminates the need for welded or threaded joints.
"This is particularly important when refurbishing pipe systems in confined areas as there is no fire risk," Mr Jensen said.
Mapress has earned an international reputation for quality stainless steel pipe solutions for hospitals, laboratories, refineries, shipping and food and wine processing industries.
"The absolute importance of product quality control across all industries makes it imperative that manufacturers maintain the highest hygiene standards," Mr Jensen said.
"No other pipe systems can withstand continuous mains pressure water flows, extreme changes in water temperatures and the clean-in-place routines as well as stainless steel."
