BioPak stock a range of regular and large compostable and biodegradable checkout bags that are now available. These super strong checkout bags are made from certified compostable materials to Australian Standard AS4736 as required for use in South Australia.
The biodegradable checkout bags are available in two sizes:
- Size (250 + 65*2)mm x 480mm
- Size (300 + 90*2)mm x 520mm
In addition to the singlet biodegradable checkout bags, BioPak also stock a wide range of bin liners and dog waste bags and custom bag design and printing is also available with a minimum order quantity of 10 000 units.
Bags made from compostable bioplastics differ from regular plastic bags and other degradable products currently available to Australian consumers. By opting for a compostable bag made from a biopolymer user not only have the potential to reduce waste from landfill* but are also reducing their carbon footprint.
BioPak’s bioplastic bags, which are made up of 66% annually renewable content, produce 1.2kg of CO2 per kg. That translates to a 57% reduction of greenhouse gas emissions when compared to regular (LDPE) plastic bags.
*BioPak’s BioPlastic bags are compostable in Australia only at organic recycling facilities used by Councils offering a kerbside green waste collection service. Unfortunately not all Australian Councils offer this service.
