The new Micro-Epsilon colorCONTROL MFA-5 available from Bestech Australia is a new range of sensor systems designed for the inspection of LEDs.
Available with five measuring channels in the basic version, the colorCONTROL MFA-5 sensors simplify the inspection of LEDs for their function, contrast and luminosity. The extremely compact MFA-5 can verify up to five LEDs simultaneously.
The measuring system can be extended modularly by adding extra MFA-E modules in batches of five channels.
The light from the target object is transmitted to the colour sensor inspection system via a flexible 2mm diameter plastic optical fibre, allowing for a dynamic evaluation of colour and intensity.
The colour value, evaluated within just a few milliseconds is output as RGB-, HIS or CIE values and then transmitted via USB or RS232 interface at a rate of between 9,600 and 115,200 Baud to a higher level inspection or evaluation system for further processing.
The sensitivity of the colorCONTROL MFA-5 sensor systems can be adjusted by using two different modes (High Sensitivity Mode and Low Sensitivity Mode) to ensure a wide measurement range for intensity (illumination). The colour sensors are capable of recognising LED colours up to ±4 nm.
The colorCONTROL MFA-5 system is installed using a test software supplied with the equipment. The colour sensor software displays the recognition results in detail.
