This piezoresistive accelerometer takes advantage of the latest silicon strain gauge technology and manufacturing techniques. The strain gauges are arranged in an active ½ Wheatstone bridge and completed by an external module and placed in the cable.
This shock accelerometer has a high resonance frequency and zero damping, which makes it highly suitable for measurement of fast rise-time accelerations and short or long duration shocks. A bidirectional model with the same specifications is also available.
These high range accelerometers have a safe overload limit of 200,000g and can operate in temperatures of -40 °C to 125 °C. The full scale output of these shock accelerometers is 100mV nominal and 60mV min, while non-linearity is ±0.5% of the full scale output.
The unit operates on a 10V DC supply and is housed in stainless steel. It uses a 1.8mm diameter Teflon cable, which is 2m in length. The XA1100 high range accelerometer weighs less than 3 grams without the cable that make it compact and lightweight, allowing for flexibility in use.
