KCE-NA through-hole load cells available from Bestech Australia and also known as hollow load cells are primarily compression cells that can be used to measure tension.
Special loading fixtures enable marginally eccentric loading to be applied without compromising precision or accuracy for compression force applications. An optional integral temperature sensor is also available. KCE-NA load cells feature four mounting and retention bores.
Tension measurement is achieved by running a high tensile bolt through the plain centre bore of the load cell. The load is then suspended from the bolt head, which rests on a suitable ring or annulus resting on the centre ring of the load cell body.
For weighing or similar applications where the preparation of the mounting surfaces for direct mounting the load cell is impractical, a pair of optional mounting plates is available. Another option is a set of flanges that compensates for off-axis or concentric loading.
The KCE-NA through-hole load cells or doughnut load cells are available with full ranges from 500 kN (50 tonne) to 2 MN (200 tonne) capacities. The output is 1.5mV/V (nominal) while the linearity is ≤0.5%FS. The 0.3m long electrical cable is protected by an armoured sheath.
