Bestech Australia present the TAD II threshold angle detector, from Spectron Systems Technology. The TAD II threshold angle detector is a dual axis tilt sensor, which functions as an electronic switch. The TAD II threshold angle detector replaces antiquated mechanical/pendulum and mercury based switches with solid state technology.
Five open collector outputs provide maximum versatility for virtually any application, whether for triggering at specific preset angles, or for strictly determining level (null) position. Four on board potentiometers allow the user to adjust the X and Y axis trigger angles, hysteresis (reset) angle, and the trigger delay interval, which prevents false triggering under dynamic conditions. At about 4cm2, the compact open architecture design is suitable for space restrictive applications. An optional flame retardant, moulded ABS plastic enclosure is also available.
Applications for this threshold angle detector include integration into safety systems, RV levelling, platform monitoring and control, and in alarm systems. The threshold range is between ±0.2° and ±40°. Accuracy is typically within 0.1°, while resolution is more than 1% of the threshold angle. The operating temperature range is between -30°C and 70°C, and a DC voltage supply of 7.5V to 30V is required.
