The non-contact infrared thermometer optris CT, available from Bestech Australia, sets a new standard for the industry. The optris CT is designed for use in mechanical engineering, thermoforming, automotive, paper making, textile, printing, food and medical engineering.
The instrument measures temperatures between -40 and 900°C, with a temperature resolution of 0.1°C and within 150 milliseconds. The rugged sensor head, one of the small in the world, can withstand ambient temperature of 180 degree C, without the need for cooling. The sensor offers an optical resolution of 22:1.
The new developments in noncontact sensing allow a small spot size by using a miniaturised sensing head with 28 millimeters in length and M12 diameter of the connecting thread. With the help of a micro lens, which can be installed in front of the integrated lens, the user is enabled to measure objects of only 600x600 microns. Other available accessories make mounting the sensor or use it in difficult applications a breeze.
The separate position of the sensor electronics in a die-casting case, qualified for an environmental rating of IP67, facilitates the connection with the process control engineering. The programming keys are externally accessible. User selectable 4-20ma and 0-10VDC outputs are also available. The setup can also be carried out via the optional USB, RS232, RS485, CAN or Profibus DP interface. A RS485-protocol, tailored for time-critical applications, grants the measurement of up to 64 bus connected sensors within 50 milliseconds.
