Bestech Australia Nohken R7-X miniature rotating paddle bin level sensor is designed for solid level detection, for use with plastic moulding or injection machines and extruders.

A rotating paddle on a spindle is connected to a low-torque, slow-speed synchronous motor. The presence of powders and particles is detected as a result of the rotating paddle stalling. When the material level inside the container reaches the revolving paddle, the paddle rotation is halted.
The motor itself starts rotating around the shaft and activates an isolated SPDT micro switch. The activation of the isolated SPDT micro switch removes power from the motor and stops it from rotating, sounding an alarm.
When the material level falls below the rotating paddle, the motor resets and the micro switch restores the revolving action.Detection torque can easily be adjusted on site by changing the spring position. There are four torque settings. The rotating paddle unit can detect in temperatures of up to 70°C, and has better life expectancy.
A special wear-resistant magnetic slip system avoids damage to the motor, even if accidental force is applied to the paddle.
