Bestech Australia presents a new series of infrared (IR) non-contact thermal sensors from Micro Epsilon, Germany.
The new IR non-contact temperature sensors include triangulated laser beams to enable precise targeting of the required surface area.
The Micro-Epsilon thermoMETER CSlaser projects a spot on the target to be measured so that off-target temperature measurements, small or large are avoided.
The controller is integrated into the single compact sensor housing to simplify installation and operation of the CSlaser while also saving space. Only one two-wire cable is required for the standard 4-20mA output non-contact temperature sensors.
The CSlaser non-contact temperature sensors can also be optimised for different products and materials by selecting optional alternative lenses.
The IR non-contact temperature sensors can reliably measure the temperature of objects as small as 0.5mm at a distance of 150mm from the sensor.
The SF version CSlaser may be adjusted to focus on a target area of 8 to 14µm diameter with a measuring range between -50ºC and 975ºC while the M-2 version with a 1.6µm target size has a range of 385ºC to 1,600ºC.
The M-2 sensors find application in the research and manufacturing of precise metal parts, in-line production welding, ceramic components, and related materials in addition to PCB development and measuring the operating temperature of discreet and integrated components.
Two essential parameters, the output signal and correction for emissivity of the target (infrared reflective property) are manually adjusted in the standard analogue CSlaser non-contact temperature transmitter with 4-20mA output.
Alternatively, the two parameters of CSlasers fitted with the optional USB interface are adjusted via software. A ‘known’ or calibrated temperature reference is required in both instances.
Emissivity calibration reference materials are available within the Micro Epsilon product range as optional extras from Bestech Australia.
The CSlaser non-contact temperature transmitters include an adjustable open collector alarm output for additional external control purposes.
