Bestech Australia offers the EDS series of long-stroke displacement sensors from Micro-Epsilon, Germany.
Micro-Epsilon EDS series long-stroke displacement sensors are designed for industrial use in hydraulic and pneumatic cylinders for the displacement and position measurement of pistons or valves.
The long-stroke sensors can measure displacement, distance, gap, deflection, stroke, filling level and immersion depth among other parameters.
The IP67-rated EDS series long-stroke displacement sensors are built rugged for operation in the harsh conditions of industrial environments. In addition to a pressure-resistant stainless steel housing to protect the sensor elements, a sensor flange integrates the sensor electronics and signal conditioning.
As a target, an aluminium sleeve is used, which is integrated into the piston rod and passed without making contact over the sensor rod. Due to the use of the eddy current principle, no permanent magnets need to be mounted inside the cylinder.
