Available now from Bestech Australia , Macrosensors rugged, spring-loaded, DC-operated linear variable differential transformers (LVDTs) are designed to offer consistent measurement in harsh gauging applications.
Wholly constructed from stainless steel, the GSDR 750 series of spring-loaded linear variable differential transformers use built-in electronics for DC input/output operation. These electronics and coil windings are sealed against hostile environments to IP68, which combined with it's rugged construction make the GHSDR 750 suitable for operation in harsh industrial environments, such as shop floors where a range of potentially damaging substances are present.
GHSDR 750 spring-loaded linear variable differential transformers offer three features not typically found in comparable gauging probe type position sensors. Firstly, the through-bore design of the GHSDR 750 allows for air-purging of the sensor's bearings to remove potential contaminants.
Secondly, the connector is located radically, allowing the overall installed length of the linear variable differential transformers to be significantly shortened for use in locations with space restrictions.
Thirdly, the detachable mating connector that is supplied with all units permits the repair and replacement of damaged or severed cables without needing to replace the whole unit.
GSHDR 750 spring-loaded linear variable differential transformers are available in standard measurement ranges of

GSHDR 750 spring-loaded linear variable differential transformers operate from a (+/-)15V DC input and provide a pre-calibrated 0 to (+/-)10V DC output that works with many A/D converters, computer-based data processors, digital indicators, PLCs and QC data collection systems. Macrosensors also manufacture a range of support electronics for their linear variable differential transformers, such as OEM modules and DC-operated signal conditioners.
