Bestech Australia presents the model 1500 MEMS piezoresistive accelerometer, from VIP Sensors. The MEMS piezoresistive accelerometer is designed to measure long duration transients as well as short duration shocks.
The damped design and wide frequency response (DC to >20KHz) of MEMS piezoresistive accelerometers allows measurements of shock signals with excellent fidelity. The measurement of the shock signals is without spurious effects such as zero shifts, amplitude distortion, and phase distortion typical of AC or damped DC accelerometers.
The low mass (<1 gram) of the MEMS piezoresistive accelerometer minimises mass load effects, making it ideal for testing lightweight structures and systems. Its rugged design includes mechanical stops to prevent damage when subject to over range excitation levels.
The piezoresistive accelerometer features two measuring ranges of 500g and 2000g. Non-linearity and hysteresis is below ±1%, and it features very low transverse sensitivity (<3%). It is stable after shock and over the operating temperature range. Electrically it is configured as full bridge allowing shunt calibration while the casing is isolated and epoxy sealed for extra protection.
The model 1500 MEMS MEMS piezoresistive accelerometer meets international standards for anthropomorphic dummy instrumentation, making it ideal for automotive crash testing, flutter testing and vehicle road testing.
