Bestech Australia presents the low noise analog accelerometer model 1221, from American company Silicon Designs. It is a single axis accelerometer for surface mounting. This model is a low-cost, integrated accelerometer for use in zero to medium frequency instrumentation applications that require extremely low noise. The accelerometer’s low cost and miniature size make it ideal for a variety of applications, including:

  • Seismic monitoring
  • Machine control
  • Robotics
  • Appliances
  • Automotive
  • Vibration analysis
Features of the low noise analog accelerometers include:
  • Each miniature, hermetically sealed package of the low noise analog accelerometers combine a micro-machines capacitive sense element and a custom integrated circuit that includes a sense amplifier and differential output stage
  • The analog accelerometers are relatively insensitive to temperature changes and gradients
  • The accelerometers produces two analog output voltages, which vary with acceleration. The outputs can be used either in differential or single ended mode referenced to +2.5 volts
  • Input ranges vary from ±2g to ±400g, and non-linearity is typically below 0.7% of the span
  • The dimensions of the analog accelerometers measure only 0.35 x 0.35 x 0.10 inches and the unit weighs only 0.62 grams
  • The accelerometers are capacitive micromachined, nitrogen damped and hermetically sealed
  • They also includes an internal temperature sensor, and is operable in temperatures of -55 to 125°C
  • These analog accelerometers respond to both DC and AC acceleration
  • The miniature accelerometers are also RoHS compliant and therefore environmentally friendly
