Bestech Australia offer the M-2230 thread friction sensor from Lorenz. This sensor measures the pre load and friction torque underneath the screw head and thread friction torque.
The M-2230 thread friction sensor is suitable for hexagonal screws (DIN 931), screws with hexagon socket (DIN 912) and cheese head screws with slot (DIN 84).
The M-2230 thread friction sensor has a measuring range of ±100Nm for nominal thread friction torque or screw head friction torque and a nominal pre load range of 100kN. It has an accuracy of 0.2% full scale and sensitivity is ±0.5mV/V. The M-2230 thread friction sensor can take dynamic measurements up to a maximum of 70% full scale (peak to peak). Ultimate load is above 400% full scale.
An excitation voltage of 2 to 12V is required. The nominal temperature range for the M-2230 thread friction sensor is 5 to 45°C and the unit is protected to a rating of IP50.
