Bestech Australia presents the optoNCDT ILR 1181 long range laser sensors from Micro-Epsilon, Germany.
These laser distance sensors provide precise distance measurements for up to 150m. The laser sensors are used mostly in industrial applications including filling level measurements and safety applications such as positional control of gates.
Due to the high resolution and fast measuring rate of 50Hz, these long range laser sensors are used for a specialised application.
The ILR 1181 laser measurement sensors were used in a civil engineering application, where they measured the sway or movement of tall buildings and skyscrapers. This is particularly relevant on building sites, where the structure must remain stable at all stages of the construction process.
Long range laser sensors can be used not only to give early warning of building tilt during construction, but also gain data on the vibration and swaying action of buildings under wind loading or otherwise.
The data can be graphed and analysed using a PC on the Micro-Epsilon supplied software.
Precise building tilt measurements can be made on various surfaces and a reflector can be used for less reflective targets. Adjustments to the positioning of the sensor are easily done via the laser sighting.
The mounting grooves on the housing offer flexible mounting options for many situations. Accessories are also available for harsh environments.
